20-year-old Boyan Slat will deploy the world's first Ocean Plastic Cleanup Array in waters between Japan and South Korea next year.
Just as a sailboat under full sail leaves only clean ripples in it's wake, we also leave our own wake as humans.
What do you leave in your wake?
Let's make sure our own wake is clean as we move forward... and let's show others how we can help change the wake we are leaving as humans (full of plastic trash).
In honor of Memorial Day weekend, we would like to give back to the community here in Dania,FL. We chose this area because of it's beautiful water, and it's amazing coral reef. The reefs are the nursuries of the sea, and it's up to us to help protect them. The Sea is on our watch now, it is our responsibility to make sure we are proud of what we hand to future generations.
We are going to be hosting a garbage clean up at the Dania cutoff waterway off US1 and Old Griffin (exact address and instructions to come). The area has a lot of debris along the water way and we would like to see it cleaned up before it makes it back into the ocean.
We will be teaming up with Expedition Chequesta, local sailors with similar goals of leaving a clean wake. Please join our cause for this holiday weekend by volunteering with us, finding additional volunteers, or if unable to attend, donating to our cause with supplies like water, bags, gloves, food, or money.
Thank you in advance for caring and helping! ...
